There’s a growing number of pets (young and old) being surrendered by senior citizen owners. This is often due to illnesses, surgeries, hospital stays, or even the need to go into rehab centers or temporary assisted living situations. Due to no pet care options, senior citizens are finding themselves with the heartbreaking task of surrendering their pets in order to ensure they are taken care of. That’s where Furever In Him comes in especially the “retreat” in Furever In Him Retirement Ranch and Retreat.

Meet Charlie (pictured to the right). This young 16 year-old belongs to a dear friend of mine named Fran. Fran is in her early 80s and has had Charlie almost all of his life. Fran has family that helps with Charlie’s care. But, there have been times over the past year when Fran and her family needed an extra hand in caring for Charlie while they faced illness, loss of a beloved family member and other hardships.. It was our pleasure to step in and help carry the load and provide peace of mind by ensuring Charlie had a safe place to stay until he could go home again. We called it Charlie’s vacation or retreat. Sometimes he stayed a few days and other times several weeks. We were happy to have him as part of the family.

Costs for pet care whether in home or boarding would have soared as the days ticked by especially when Fran was unsure when she’d be able to bring Charlie home. Furever In Him was able to provide Charlie the special, pampered pet treatment he needed free of charge. We’re excited to provide this much needed service to senior citizens in need.
